Michael’s Fees

I have included this piece written by renowned Marriage Celebrant Wendy Haynes.

Keep in mind these fees when you are speaking with celebrants about their services and fees. Celebrants have to pay for their own office equipment, annual registration and insurance, stationery, PA equipment, wages, compulsory celebrant training and other sundry expenses.

I feel saddened and encouraged to speak out when I hear people say, what ‘easy money’ it is being a celebrant.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes – financially, emotionally and physically to ensure you, the couple, get the ‘perfect day’. There are many hours of work completed for each ceremony. I encourage you to choose a celebrant based upon quality of service rather than price.

When you think of the importance of the role of the celebrant and the impact they can have upon your celebration – this calls for a high standard of work.

The celebrant will cost you more than the cake but usually less than the flowers. More than the limousine but less than the photographer  …

The memory of a good …or bad celebrant will stay with you forever.

You have the choice of hand held or lavalier type microphones (clip on) and I also operate this equipment to ensure a seamless flow to the proceedings.

Where additional fees may apply

Additional Travel

Additional travel (beyond 200km return by car) – feel free to consider me to conduct your ceremony in the Whitsundays or Dubai, though.

Additional Resources
Additional resources or set up costs if you have specific requests for rituals, theming or musical ideas and the like ( I’ll try, but I don’t think I can get Bruno Mars or Andre Rieu to perform at your wedding) The cost of these resources would need to be reimbursed back to me
Special Dates
If you plan to get married on Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve, I’m there, however, an additional charge may apply.
Special Themes
If you are getting married as a Disney Princess, I am more than happy to costume myself to fit your theme (I do draw the line appearing as Chewbacca in 42 degrees Summer heat though).

Payment, Cancellation, Terms & Conditions

A deposit amount of $150 is due and payable upon booking and serves as confirmation of my services. The deposit ensures that your date and time are reserved exclusively for you. I do not conduct more than one ceremony per day, so once the deposit is paid – I’m all yours.
The balance of the fee is to be paid within ten (10) working days of the ceremony date. Payment can be made by cash or electronic funds transfer (EFT) and a receipt will be issued. My bank details will be supplied.
